London, UK – The UK Joint Terrorism Analysis Centre (JTAC) has decided to reduce the terror threat level from ‘Critical’ (imminently expected) to ‘Severe’ (highly likely). The decision was announced by the UK Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Theresa May, following her meeting with the UK Government’s emergency committee, Cobra, due to the recent activity of the UK police in apprehending persons involved in the terror network responsible for the Manchester attacks.

While this latest action means that a terror attack is ‘highly likely’ rather than ‘imminently expected’, the situation is still serious.

The High Commission urges all Bahamian students and residents to continue to exercise extreme caution in and around London and in your respective resident communities.

Your safety is our utmost priority.
