Paris, France — Non-Resident Ambassador-designate of The Bahamas to the Republic of France, His Excellency Ellison E. Greenslade, QPM, presented Letters of Credence formally accrediting him as the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to the Republic of France on Tuesday, 10th December, 2019. The Letters of Credence were presented to His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, at the Elysée Palace, Paris, France.
During the presentation ceremony, Ambassador Greenslade thanked President Emmanuel Macron for the support provided to The Bahamas in the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian and for the provision of water filtration systems by the French. He also expressed thanks to France for its support of The Bahamas’ re-election to the Council of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) during recent elections held in London, UK. Discussions also centred on the strengthening of relations between the two countries with the French president pledging to continue to stand with and support The Bahamas.
