Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, 28 – 30 October 2011, Perth, Australia

The High Commission is pleased to announce that the delegation of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Perth, Australia, would be lead by the Hon. T. Brent Symonette, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foriegn Affairs and Immigration. The theme for CHOGM 2011, “Building National Resilience, Building Global Resilience”, reflects the importance of addressing these challenges at multiple levels: as individual states, as members of the Commonwealth, and as part of the global community.

“Every two years, Commonwealth leaders meet at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) to discuss global and Commonwealth issues, and to agree on collective policies and initiatives.

The next Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting will be held in Perth, Western Australia, from 28 to 30 October 2011.

CHOGM 2011 will provide an opportunity for Commonwealth leaders to meet in Australia to discuss world issues relevant to building a strong and secure future for all”.
