Commonwealth High Commissioners Observe First World War

Commonwealth High Commissioners joined His Royal Highness Prince Charles at Glasgow Cathedral on Monday, August 4th, 2014 to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.

Following the Service at the Cathedral, the High Commissioners also attended a short service at the cenotaph at George Square in Glasgow.

This was a traditional service of remembrance including a wreath laying and march past by serving military personnel and veterans.

Part of this service involved the laying of wreaths by HRH The Prince of Wales and senior government officials as well as representatives of each nation in attendance.

Bahamas High Commissioner to London H.E. Ed Bethel laid a wreath on behalf of the Government and people of The Bahamas.

Here he is seen with the High Commissioner of Seychelles Her Excellency Mrs Marie-Pierre Lloyd just before laying the wreath.
