Presentation of Letters of Appointment to Honorary Consul of The Bahamas in Oslo, Norway

The High Commission is pleased to announce that at a ceremony held at “Bahamas House” in London on Friday, 18 March 2011, Mrs. Masha Le Gris Stromme was presented by High Commissioner Paul Farquharson with her Letters of Appointment as the new Honorary Consul for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in Oslo, Norway.

Active in the fields of Science and Business, Mrs. Stromme currently sits on the Board of Navamedic, a Speciality Pharmaceutical company based in Scandinavia. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at McGill University, Canada, and completed a D.Phil. in Genetics at Oxford University, UK, upon receiving a Rhodes Scholarship. After many years working in Healthcare Banking in London, she and her husband relocated to Norway. Mother of  four and with a keen interest in children’s education, she juggles her professional interests with a busy home life. A native French speaker, she is fluent in English and Spanish, and is learning Norwegian.

Mrs. Stromme is the daughter of Mr. Claude Le Gris, Honorary Consul for The Bahamas in Paris, France.  Her family has therefore long been associated with The Bahamas, and the High Commission looks forward to working with her in order to foster closer relations between The Bahamas and Norway.
