Employment Opportunities – IAAF world relay Bahamas 2014/2015
In 2014 and 2015, The Bahamas will host the IAAF world relay championships in the new Thomas A Robinson track and field stadium . The event will require 100 organizing committee members and 500 volunteers.

London Reception in Honour of the 40th Anniversary of Independence
The High Commissioner, Mrs Bethel, and staff of the Bahamas High Commission in London celebrated the 40th anniversary of Independence of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas with a gala reception at The Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair on 17 July 2013. Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, as well as Bahamian nationals and Friends of The Bahamas were treated to an evening of excellent Bahamian-inspired dishes, music, and dancing.

Universal Periodic Review of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas
On 6 June 2013, a Bahamian delegation led by the Hon Z.C. Allyson Maynard-Gibson, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, participated in the Outcome Report of the Second Cycle (15th Session) of the Universal Periodic Review of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, which took place in Geneva,Switzerland.

Presentation of Credentials by H.E. Eldred Bethel to the President of the Hellenic Republic
On Tuesday 4 June 2013, H.E. Eldred Bethel, presented his formal Letters of Credence to His Excellency Karolos Papoulias, President of the Hellenic Republic, accrediting him as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas to the Hellenic Republic, with residence in London.

On Wednesday 1 May 2013, Richard Moir, Co-founder and President of The Friends of The Bahamas (FOB), the premier network to promote commercial, cultural and educational relations between the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the international community, hosted a Welcome Reception at The Caledonian Club for H.E. Eldred Bethel, High Commissioner and Mrs Dawne Bethel.
