Commonwealth Day 2015
The High Commission is pleased to reproduce the Messages from the Head of the Commonwealth, HM Queen Elizabeth II, and the Commonwealth Secretary-General, H.E. Kamalesh Sharma, on this year’s Commonwealth theme: “A Young Commonwealth’. which is being celebrated today around the Commonwealth.
The theme is intended to highlight the capacity, contribution and potential of young people, who play a vital role at the heart of sustainable development and democracy.

Bahamas Flag Bearer for Commonwealth Day Observance 2015
The High Commission is looking to identify a young person of outstanding achievement to carry the nation’s flag at the Commonwealth Day Observance at Westminster Abbey on Monday 9 March 2015. The flag bearer should be a national of The Bahamas currently resident in the UK, aged between 15 and 25, and have had an impact in the area of ‘A young Commonwealth’ (the 2015 Commonwealth theme), have made a positive contribution to their local communities, or are actively engaged in Commonwealth activities.
