The Bahamas Celebrates 41 Years of Independence July 10th, 2014
Some 350 guests including the Bahamian Diaspora, members of the Diplomatic Corps and other dignitaries gather at the headquarters of the International Maritime Organization in London to celebrate the 41st anniversary of Independence in The Bahamas. It was a fun-filled evening which got started with remarks by His Excellency Eldred Bethel, High Commissioner and Director of The Bahamas Maritime Authority, Davy Rolle.

New Bahamas Tourism Director General Pays Courtesy Call on His Excellency Eldred Bethel
His Excellency Eldred Bethel and New Bahamas Tourism Director General Mrs Joy Jibrilu at Bahamas House.
The Director General visited Bahamas Tourist Office staff from France, Germany, Italy, London and Russia alongside her senior management team, Anthony Stuart, Director of Europe, Tyrone Sawyer, Director of Airlift Development and Tommy Thompson, Deputy Director General .

The San Salvador Rock Iguanas Return Home To The Bahamas
A collaborative effort between The Bahamas government, UK Border Force and British Airways led to The Bahamas 12 San Salvador Rock Iguanas being returned home on July 9th, 2014 at The Lynden Pindling International Airport.

On receiving the Instruments of Independence from His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales on Independence Day 1973, the founding Father of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the late Prime Minister Sir Lynden Pindling stated ‘We have not travelled long, we have much further to go. But we know where we are going, and with a united people and a gracious God, we will get there’.
