Bahamian Film Maker Kareem Mortimer Premiers Passage at the Bristol Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival
Five short films commissioned by Commonwealth Writers premiered at the Encounters Short Film and Animation Festival in Bristol, UK on Thursday 19 September 2013. The films, four dramas and one documentary focus on the themes of relationships, and explore migration, indigenous rights, barrel children, and same-sex relationships and are the culmination of the Commonwealth Shorts scheme to develop the craft of emerging film makers.

Sen. The Hon. Allyson Maynard Gibson, Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, attended the Meeting of Law Ministers and Attorneys-General of Small Commonwealth Jurisdictions (LMSCJ) at Marlborough House in London from 12-13 September 2013. This Meeting took place immediately following the Senior Officials of Law Ministries (SOLM) Meeting from 10 to 11 September, which occurs every three years in London.

Employment Opportunities – IAAF world relay Bahamas 2014/2015
In 2014 and 2015, The Bahamas will host the IAAF world relay championships in the new Thomas A Robinson track and field stadium . The event will require 100 organizing committee members and 500 volunteers.
