The High Commissioner, Mrs Bethel, and staff of the Bahamas High Commission in London celebrated the 40th anniversary of Independence of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas with a gala reception at The Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair on 17 July 2013. Members of the Diplomatic and Consular Corps, as well as Bahamian nationals and Friends of The Bahamas were treated to an evening of excellent Bahamian-inspired dishes, music, and dancing.

Bahamas National Children’s Choir Participate in the 35th International Children’s Festival in Izmir, Turkey

The Bahamas National Children’s Choir (BNCC) travelled to Izmir, Turkey, from 13 to 26 April 2013 to participate in the 35th International Children’s Festival. Participation of the BNCC in this annual event was sponsored by the EXPO 2020 Izmir Bid Committee and Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT). During their time in Turkey the children will stay with host families and will perform ‘Mr. Fisher’ during a live television broadcast on 23 April. The thirteen members of the BNCC are accompanied by Directors, Dr. Patricia Bazard and Mr. Justin Dean.
